Common Problems & Solutions
There are a few common reasons this may happen:
- Please check your spam / junk folder
- Ensure you are using the same email address you used when registering
If you still do not receive the email, it is very likely that you are not yet officially registered for JCP, and therefore do not have an account on the system yet.
What to do instead:
- Please register on the website rather than resetting a password
- When registering, make very sure that:
- Your student number is entered correctly
- The āuā is lowercase (for example:
u12345678)
Incorrect student numbers may result in your account being removed automatically.
This can happen occasionally due to browser session or cookie issues.
What to try:
- Open the link in the same browser where you requested the reset
- Make sure cookies are enabled
- If it still loops:
- Open a private / incognito window
- Copy and paste the reset link into the address bar (do not click it)
- Avoid refreshing the page repeatedly
If the problem persists, please wait a few minutes and try again.
This usually means the website is temporarily busy due to many students accessing it at the same time.
What to do:
- Wait 10 minutes
- Close the tab
- Try again later
Repeated refreshes can make the issue worse for everyone.
If you registered very recently (in the last 24 hours):
- Then try logging in again (wait 1 hour during working hours OR wait until the next day).
- If it has been longer than this, please log a “Website Query” on our Contact Page, or email support@jointcommunityproject.co.za.
